Description
Purebred Suffolk Down Ewe Lambs, with over 130 years of lineage, 10 months old, and ready for reproduction.
Characteristics: The Suffolk Down sheep were developed in England by crossing 'Southdown' rams with 'Norfolk Horned' ewes. The outcome was a breed improvement with exceptional qualities.
Our purebred Suffolk Down ewe lambs boast an impressive lineage of more than 130 years. At 10 months old, they are in optimal condition for breeding. Male rams range in weight from 110 to 160 kg, while females weigh between 80 and 110 kg. Their wool is classified as medium, with a fiber diameter of 25.5 to 33 microns, and a staple length between 50 to 90 mm.
Grazing Benefits: Grazing offers numerous environmental benefits and supports agricultural economies.
By grazing, Suffolk Down sheep help maintain healthy ecosystems, contribute to seed dispersal, and prevent forest fires. This natural activity improves the land by allowing animals to eat grass, fertilize the soil, and aerate the ground with their hooves. Grazing also produces flavorful, tender, and juicy meat, which can be prepared in a wide variety of ways. For recipes, check out our guide "How to Cook Lamb Meat."
The traditional practice of grazing eliminates the need for extra feed, fertilizers, or pesticides, making it a sustainable approach for farmers.
